Mrs. Hamarstrom At Rest

In the late autumn of a well spent life, Mrs. Margaret Hamarstrom was called to her well-earned eternal rest last Friday, July 12th, having almost completed her 82nd year.

Mrs. Hamarstrom was born in Ostra Jetland(ed. note: Ostergotlands is pronounced, "Ostra Yetland"), Sweden, July 22nd, 1836, where she was also married to the bereaved husband, who now mourns their temporary separation. Fifty years ago they came to America and have lived most of the time since in this vicinity. They, however, visited the home-land on several occasions.

Seven children came to bless their home. There were two sons and five daughters of whom, the two sons, Samuel of Moline, Ill., and Frank of Kansas City, Mo., and three daughters survive, viz: Mrs. Jno. A. Nordmark of Powell, Wyoming; Mrs. Wm. Camph of Pelham Heights, N.Y.; and Mrs. Herman Kronstedt of Moline. The daughter Anna, who taught school for some time in the Van Cooley district, died about fourteen years ago, and one little daughter died in infancy.

The many friends whose privilege it was to have known Mrs. Hamarstrom and who had enjoyed her thoughtful kindness and warm hospitality assembled at the home to express their sympathy and pay the last honors to the deceased, on Monday afternoon. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Wm. C. Krebs and interment took place in the family lot in Oak Hill cemetery.
