From the Northern Iowa Democrat, published at Elma, Howard county we glean the following regarding the death of M.A. Garin, a former resident of Taylor township, mention of which was made last week in our Harpers letter. The article was written by his sister, Mrs. B. Murphy:
"Died at his home in Hayfield,Minn, Dec. 14,1901.

He received his early education in the country school and finished in the college at Prairie du Chien. In 1877, he was married to Miss Mary Hennessey of Harper's Ferry. His wife died in 1883. This Union was blessed with four children, two of whom died before their mother's demise, the two surviving are James A. Garin of Hayfield, and Mary Garin of Harper's Ferry. Eleven years ago Mr. Garin married Miss Mary O'Leary of LaCrosse. Six children were born to them; one dying in infancy. Besides 2 sisters, he leaves a score of other relatives and friends.
