MRS. HERMAN GAUNITZ
Lansing, Ia. -(Special)- Burial services are being arranged for Mrs. Herman Gaunitz, who died at Des Moines Wednesday. Mrs. Gaunitz, a former resident here, went to live with her daughter, Mrs. H. J. Metcalf eight years ago.
As Mary Jackson, she was born near Lansing Sept., 1851. After her marriage to Herman Gaunitz they resided in the city. Her husband died Armistice day 1918.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. George Filbert of Minneapolis and Mrs. Metcalf of Des Moines; two grandsons and two nephews here, Harold and Ernest Gaunitz. The funeral will be held from the latter's home. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery and the services conducted by the Rev. Lloyd Bartholomew.The LaCrosse Tribune, Friday, 8 Sept. 1939 p14
