Kathryn O’Hara

Kathryn M. O’Hara, age 50, of Claymont, Del., passed away of cancer in her home Friday, Sept. 9, 2005.

Kathryn was a graduate of the University of Delaware. She was employed as a legal transcriptionist by Cybersecretaries, and previously by the Jacobs and Crumplar Law Firm of Wilmington, Del.

Kathryn was pursuing a professional acting career at the time of her death. She appeared in local theater productions with the Wilmington Drama League and Arden’s Highway Ensemble during the 1970s and 80s. She appeared most recently with Chapel Street Players in 2003. She studied acting in New York City and Philadelphia, Pa., and had been a member of the Hedgerow Theater Repertory Company from 1979 to 1980.

Katie was also a skilled seamstress and was also skilled in arts and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fiske and Stelle (Dougherty) O’Hara, and a brother, Michael.

Survivors include her twin sister, Kathleen O’Hara and her fiancé Alan Mackall, both of Claymont; her aunt, Marie (Dougherty) Zimmerman of Waukon; her uncle, Leighton O’Hara of Fort Worth, Texas; and several cousins in Iowa and Texas.

A memorial service was held in Claymont with burial at St. Mary’s Lycurgus Cemetery.
