Gregory B. Mosier, 55, of Monona, Iowa, died Saturday, October 15, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 18 at Martin Funeral Home in Waukon, with Rev. Larry Olson officiating. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Gregory Burton Mosier was born June 13, 1950, in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Karl Burton and Deloris Mae (Ewing) Mosier. He was baptized and confirmed at First Presbyterian Church and graduated from Waukon Senior High in 1968. Greg attended Barber College in Waterloo, serving his apprenticeship and working an additional year at Zarffis Barber Shop while he was there. He returned to Waukon where he operated Mosier Barber Shop over the Food Ranch for several years. Later, he moved to Monona where he operated Mosier Barber Shop for many years.
Greg was an avid outdoorsman and liked to fish and hunt both game and mushrooms. He enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, playing cards, and following the Green Bay Packers. Greg liked people and enjoyed visiting with his clients as well as trying to help his neighbors whenever he could.
Survivors include his mother, Deloris Mosier of Waukon, several aunts, an uncle, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Karl and his grandparents, Alden and Margaret Mosier and Charles and Florence Ewing.
Casketbearers were Sue Burroughs, Sharon Kubitz, Tom, Tim, and Charles Welch, and Darren and Dustan Snitker.
