Robert E. Zezulka, 63, of New Albin, died Friday, May 27, 2005 at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI.
Robert Earl Zezulka was born on August 14, 1941 in Waukon, the son of Raymond Noel and Lorrayne Alice (Wild) Zezulka. He attended the French Creek and Irish Hollow country schools and graduated from New Albin High School in 1959. He served in the US Army and Reserves. He married Marilyn Jean Hyde, on June 30, 1961 at Mt. Hope Presbyterian Church in rural New Albin. They moved to Edgewood, IA. They returned to New Albin in 1969.
Bob was a member of the Allamakee Co. Farm Bureau Board and served as Justice of the Peace in New Albin for several years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially for coyotes.
Survivors include his wife Marilyn of New Albin; three daughters, Robin (Larry) Harmon and Renee (Dan) Mooney, both of New Albin, and Roxi (Takis) Mpougas of Fullerton, CA; and John Hyde of Moulton, IA; 11 grandchildren; and two brothers, Roger (Victoria) Zezulka of Lake Wales, FL and Bill (Esther) Zezulka of Clarks Grove, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Services were held Tuesday, May 31 at 7 p.m. at the New Albin Community Center in New Albin, IA, with Pastor James Olsen officiating. Friends called from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and immediately following the services at the Community Center. Martin Funeral Home of Waukon handled arrangements.
