Marcella K. Meyer, 70, of Caledonia, died Sunday, September 18, 2005 at Franciscan-Skemp Medical Center, La Crosse.

She was born February 19, 1935 on golden ridge, Allamakee County, IA to Albert and Ella (Wiemerslage) Ehlers.

Marcella attended schools in Waukon, IA until her family moved to Irish Hollow, rural New Albin, IA. She graduated from New Albin High School in 1953.

On September 19, 1953 she married Melvin Meyer at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Wheatland. Shortly after their marriage, Marcella became a member of Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Eitzen.

Marcella and Melvin farmed in Wilmington township until 1982 when they moved to Spring Grove.

On June 21, 1989 Melvin preceded Marcella in death. In 1996, she moved from Spring Grove to the Caledonia Care and Rehab campus. Prior to moving to Caledonia, Marcella enjoyed volunteering at the Caledonia Care and Rehab campus.

Survivors include three children, Marian (George) Rauk and Marie (Ronald) Howard, both of Spring Grove, and Kermit (Colleen) Meyer of Caledonia; ten grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and her father-in-law and mother-in-law.

Services will be Thursday, September 22, at 11 a.m. at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church, Eitzen. Rev. Todd Krueger will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia, on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
