Barber Kahle's little girl, Emma, died to-day, of scarlet fever, aged 3 years, 4 months and 7 days.

Notes: Ernest Kahle, Barber and Hair-Dresser, upstairs, Hufschmidt Block (advertisement in the Lansing Mirror, April 9, 1875) The 1880 U.S. census Viroqua, Vernon co. WI enumerated Ernest Kahle, age 37, barber; his wife Emelie, age 23 and children Lillie, age 4 & Charley aged 9months. Little Emma possibly is buried in Oak Hill cemetery, but her grave is not recorded in the 'Woodmansee' cemetery book.
