Augusta Roe of Waukon died at her home Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the age of 94.

She was born July 17, 1886 in Center township to John and Ingeborg Bakke. She attended country schools and married Alert H. Roe August 28, 1919 in Waterville. They farmed in Center township until 1951 when they moved to Waukon.

She is survived by a daughter Marian Ward, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a brother Ingvold Bakke, a resident of the Good Samaritan center.

She was predeceased by her husband, a son Norval, and brothers and sisters, Nora, Olga Ellefson, Idelia, Paul, Melvin, Coney, Ottenus, Theodore and Julius.

Funeral services were held at Old West Paint Creek church, of which she was a member, Saturday Sept 27 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Paul Tobiason officiated with burial in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Cletus Rooney, Mervin Hill, Willard Roe, Robert Hagen, Charles Bakke, and Joseph Bakke. Hanson funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
