Again it becomes our duty to record the death of another of the early settlers of Lansing, Michael Quinn, who, though he walked in the humble paths of life, was always esteemed as a worthy citizen and an upright man.

Mr. Quinn was taken sick several weeks ago, and his affliction was such as to make his recovery very doubtful, yet his physicians and the family hoped for the best. He lingered along until last Sunday morning about five o'clock when his spirit took its flight to the unknown realms of light.

Mr. Quinn was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, in 1849 [sic], but in what year he came to America we have been unable to ascertain. He resided for some years at Canandaigua, Herkimer county, N.Y., and removed from that place to Lansing in 1854, and he has since made this and the vicinity his home.

He was an honorable, hardworking and industrious man and always has the esteem of his fellow citizens. He leaves a sorrowing wife and a large family of grown up children, all in comfortable circumstances, the result of his industry and frugality.

DEATH - Michael Quinn, for a quarter century a citizen of this place and vicinity, died on Sunday last, after an illness of a number of weeks. He was a most worthy and respected man.

In the item in last week's paper about the death of Mr. Michael Quinn, a wrong figure slipped in and made the year in which he was born 1849, instead of 1819, as it should have been.
