BIERMANN, ELSHEIMER, GRIMES, ALCORN, BUNCH, CRANDALL

Services were held for Clarence Biermann, 66, on Friday, Dec. 28 at 1:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Lansing with Pastor Tom Mattson officiating. Burial was at West Union Cemetery with military graveside rites at 3:45 p.m. Burke-Thornburg Funeral Home, Lansing, was in charge of arrangements.

Clarence graduated from West Union High School in 1942. In 1943 he enlisted in the army and served as a Tail Gunner - B-17 Flying Fortress - European Theater Operation. Clarence was discharged in 1945.

In 1946 he married Donna Elsheimer.

He worked as a sausage maker, production manager and part owner of Elsheimer Meat Products in West Union until they sold it in 1971. He then bought Harpers Ferry Lumber Yard. Clarence semi-retired in Harpers Ferry and Lansing.

He is survived by his mother, Esther Biermann, Good Samaritan Center, West Union; wife, Donna; two sons, Allen, Arlington, Tx and Donald, Rockton, Wis.; one daughter, Marsha Grimes, West Union; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Everett & Harlan, both of West Union and Daryl, Eldorado; three sisters Arlene Alcorn and Joan Bunch, both of West Union and Donna Crandall, Osage Beach, Mo.
