DIED - Death has again visited our midst since our last paper was issued. This time he has taken from among our citizens the beloved wife of Jacob Dreher, proprietor of the American House.

She died last Thursday night of lung fever, after a short illness. Her age was thirty years, eight months and ten days.

The deceased was a most worthy woman and was highly esteemed for her many good qualities by all who knew her. She has indeed left a house of mourning that will long contain heavy and sorrowing hearts for the loss of a most affectionate and devoted wife and kind mother.

She was a member of the German Presbyterian Church, and died in the full enjoyment of a Christian's faith and hope in immortal glory beyond the grave. The funeral took place on Sunday and was one of the largest ever attended in Lansing, thus showing that she had a large number of friends who showed their sorrow and sympathy by escorting the remains to the tomb.

Card of Thanks
The undersigned hereby tenders his heartfelt thanks to those kind neighbors and friends who were so untiring and devoted to his departed wife in her suffering and affliction, and their efforts to make smooth and peaceful her dying hours. Also the members of the German Society and Odd Fellows Lodge, and to the citizens and friends generally for their attendance and sympathy in his bereavement.
J. Dreher and family

Note: Burial is in Oak Hill cemetery where her gravestone names her as Wilhelmine, w/o J.D. Dreher. The dates given in 'Woodmansee' records are incorrect.
