Charles Godfrey, a young man of this city, who for many months past has been suffering from that dread disease, consumption, died yesterday afternoon.

His was a promising life; he was possesed of good principles and was of that moral and upright deportment in life that won the friendship and esteem of all.

Charley worked at the printing business for two or three years, but he could not stand the close confinement of the office, and had to give it up, since which time he has been slowly wearing away under the ravages of the malady which caused his death.

The funeral will take place to-morrow at 10 1/2 o'clock. Services at Methodist Church.
