This quiet community was startled yesterday morning by the news of the sudden death of Miss Josie Morgan, which took place during Monday night of heart trouble. Deceased was in her usual health Monday but took seriously ill about i:30 o'clock that evening and succumbed about 4 o'clock Tuesday morning.
Josephine Morgan was born in Quincy, Ill., February 25th, 1845. She was left an orphan at twelve years of age and was given a home by her uncle, Mr. R.H.F. Morgan, and his wife.
The family moved to Winona, Minn., in 1859, where Miss Morgan continued to reside with her aunt after her uncle's death. In 1889 she and her aunt removed to Lansing. Mrs. Morgan died in April, 1901, and was buried in Winona, where the remains of Miss Josephine will be laid to rest beside her.
Miss Morgan united with the Central Methodist Episcopal church in Winona and since she has resided here has been a faithful and consistent member of the Methodist Episcopal church.
