Ludvig Larson received a telegram Monday informing him of the death of N.K. Nelson, which took place at the Soldier's Home at Lisbon, N.D. Mr. Nelson will be remembered as steward of the County Farm for a number of years. He had been spending his summers with his daughter, Mrs. Albert Larson, and his son, Charles, at Jamestown, N.D., and his winters at the Home.
The remains are expected to arrive here today and will be taken to the Ludwig Larson home. Funeral services will likely be held tomorrow and burial beside his wife in the cemetery near the Makee school house. Obituary next week.

Death of Civil War Veteran
Last week we briefly mentioned the death of N.K. Nelson, which took place Sunday, March 11, at the Soldiers' Home at Lisbon, N.D. The remains arrived here Wednesday, accompanied by his son, Charles, and wife, and daughter, Mrs. Albert Larson and husband. The funeral services, conducted by Rev. Van Nice, were held at the Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon. They were attended by G.A.R. comrades, members of the W.R.C. and a detachment of the American Legion. He was laid to rest with military honors beside his wife in Makee cemetery.N.K. Nelson was born at Voos, Norway, July 7, 1847. At the age of eleven years he came to this country and resided for a number of years near Lansing. When sixteen years of age he enlisted in the Ninth Iowa Cavalry and served two years and seven months during the war of the rebellion.
In 1873 he was united in marriage with Anna V. Bentley. To this union eight children were born, six of whom, with the mother, preceded the father in death.
The survivors are Mrs. Albert Larson, Sidney, N.D., and Charles Nelson, Jamestown, N.D., and six grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters: Ole K. Nelson, Waterville, Iowa; Lewis Nelson, Jasper, Minn.; Mrs. Ann Renne and Mrs. Inger Severson, both of Doland, S.D.
For fifteen years Mr. Nelson held the position of Steward of the County Home, taking up his residence in this city at the conclusion of his service for the county. Since the death of his wife seven years ago, he has made his home with his son and daughter in North Dakota.
