Dr. Robert Myers

Dr. Robert Myers, son of Dr. Judson and Therese (Bowen) Myers, was born February 12, 1918 in Sheldon, Iowa. He died Thursday, January 5, 1995 at Mercy Health Center St. Joseph's Unit. He was 76 years old.

Robert, a former Postville resident, served in the Marines during World War II. He married Gemma Pieri Giunta on June 30, 1971. He practiced optometry in Dubuque for 30 years, retiring in 1986.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia. Surviving are his wife, Gemma, of Dubuque; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Carla Callan of Dubuque, Mrs. Toni Brimeyer of St. Louis Park, Mo., and Ann Meyer of Dubuque; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and a sister, Gretchen Myers of Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Private family memorial will be Saturday morning at Hoffmann-Schneider Funeral Home.
