Obituary of Wilhelmina Albertina Wendt Schroeder

Mrs. Wm.Schroeder Passes on Sunday

Mrs Wilhelm H.Schroeder passed away at her home in this city at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday June 16,1935,aged 71 years,11 months and 12 days,the immediate cause of her death was peritonitis.

Her maiden name was Wilhelmina Albertina Wendt. She was born in Lockport,new York,July 4,1863.

Following her removal to Minnesota,she became a communicant member of the Lutheran church in Atwater in which community she spent the "larger"part of her life.

On November 16,1908,she was married to Wilhelm Schroeder of Postville,taking the place of of the wife and mother in a family of six children. They resided on the farm until 1913 when they moved to Postville which has since been her home.

She loved her humble home,her garden and her flowers,and ever busy trying to fulfill her mission here on earth.She sacrificed and toiled to make the advancing years comfortable both for herself and her husband who will sadly miss her kindly ministrations.

She was a communicant member of St.Paul`s Lutheran church of this city and member of the Ladies Aid Society.She had many friends who will mourn her departure.

The immediate relatives to mourn her departure are husband,Wilhelm Schroeder,and five step children,Louis,Schroeder,Edward F.Schroeder,Mrs Fred Schara,Mrs. John Kohrs,all of Postville:Mrs. Thomas Monroe of Castalia.There are also 25 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.She is also survived by three brothers,John,Albert and August Wendt,all living in Canada and three nieces,Elsie,Florence and Gladys Witte,and two nephews,Howard and LeRoy Witt,all of St. Paul
The funeral was held from St. Paul`s Lutheran Church in this city....

The funeral was held from St. Paul's Lutheran church in this city on Tuesday afternoon, Dr. R. B. Garten officiating. Interment was made in the Postville cemetery.
