GRATTAN, Amos G. 1797-1881

Mr. Amos G. Grattan, a respected patriarchal citizen, died at the residence of his son, H.G., in Ludlow Twp., on Thursday last.

He was born in Massachusetts in 1797, emigrated to Wisconsin in 1835, and erected the first dwelling house in the south-eastern part of the territory.

For 32 years his home was made with his son, and for 15 years past in this county.
