Harry W. Meyer
Funeral services for Harry W. Meyer, 75, were held Monday, April 11, 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Waukon. Rev. Larry Olson officiated. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lansing. Martin Funeral Service of Waukon was in charge of arrangements.
Harry W. Meyer, son of August Meyer and Clara Schweinfurth Meyer, was born February 5, 1913 at Lansing, Iowa. He died April 8, 1988 at his home in Waukon.
He received his education in rural Lansing schools. He worked at the creamery in Churchtown and also farmed near the Lansing and Waterville area. He also worked at Wisconsin Dairies Creamery in Waukon, and formerly was a manager for Calhoun. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Waukon.
He married Juliet Reed June 30, 1942 in Lansing. She died Nov. 13, 1963. He married Eloise Brownson on August 29, 1964 at Waukon.
He was a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church, Waukon and belonged to Waterville and Lansing PTA.
Preceding him in death were: one granddaughter, and 2 brothers, Herbert and Alfred.
Surviving are his wife, Eloise, children, Mrs. John (Juliet) Wood, Lansing, Mrs. Dennis (Ruth) Provost, Salem, Connecticut, Richard, Madison, Wisconsin; step-children, Diane Hanson, Dubuque, Mrs. Jenny Holbert, Stafford, Virginia and Tom Burdick, Renton, Washington; 2 sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Roe, Waukon and Irene Meyer, Lansing.
Pallbearers were Robert Meyer, James Meyer, Everett Roe, Roger Reed, Glen Reed, James Christensen.
