Mrs. Delbert Brainard Funeral Held Tuesday.

Jane McWilliams, daughter of Nathaniel and Mary McWilliams, was born near New Pitsligo, Scotland, on September 13, 1863, and passed away on November 3, 1934.

Her parents came to Iowa when she was four years of age and located near Postville, and the greater part of her life was spent in this vicinity.

On September 24, 1882, she was married to Delbert Brainard (Adelbert Monroe Lord Brainard) and to this union were born ten children. Those now living are: Amos and Mrs. Bessie Hamman of Luana; Mrs. Irene Raymond of Hamil, Minnesota; William of Postville; Artur and Ed of Rockford, Illinois; Fred of Minneapolis; Mrs. Myrl McCrystal of Monona; and Mrs Ruth Rachran of Lansing. One son, Roy, and the husband preceeded her in death, the husband passing about 17 years ago.

She is survived by nine children, 32 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, William and Aleck McWilliams; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Enyart and Mrs. Anna Lawson; one half-sister, Mrs Elisa Swenson, and one half-brother, John McWilliams.

Early in life she joined the United Brethren church at Bethel and was a faithful member.
She was a good wife and mother, a kind and helpful neighbor and friend.

Funeral services were held in the Postville U.B. church Tuesday afternoon at two-thirty o'Clock, Rev. J. H. Hampshire officiating. Internment was made in the Minert cemetery by the side of her husband.

The following out of town relatives were here to attend the funeral; Mrs. Fred Hammond and son Neil, of Hamill, Minneasota; Mrs. Ed Mooney of Minneasota, Edward Brainard, Mr. and Mrs Art Brainard and son of Rockford, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. Will McWilliams and John McWilliams of Waukon; Mrs. Harold Brown of Calmar; Mrs. McAndrew and Mrs. Myrl McCrystal of Monona.
