Henry W. Miene, Sr.

Funeral services for Henry W. Miene, Sr., 92, were held Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m., at Zion United Church of Christ. The Rev. Henry Heinbuch officiated with burial in the Postville Cemetery.

Mr. Miene was born in Neinburg, Germany, Aug. 11, 1887, a son of William and Anna (Dierking) Miene. He attended schools in Germany and at the age of 16 came to the United States. Feb. 22, 1912, he married Ella Ehde in Clayton County. She died Sept. 17, 1963

Mr. Miene was a farmer and a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Waukon. He died Sunday, Feb. 3 at Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.

He was preceded in death by his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Rueben (Margaret) Klocke; a child in infancy; two brothers, William and Fred; a sister, Freda; and two sisters in childhood.

Survivors include; three sons, Herbert, Ervin and Henry, Jr., all of Waukon; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Viola) Olson of Elkader; 12 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Velma) Schultz and Mrs. Meta Steglich, both of Postville.
