Another Pioneer Gone
Bat. Verdun, a Frenchman, one of the very earliest settlers of our county, who, for many years, kept a wood-yard at the seven mile bend below Lansing, but has lived at Columbus for some years past, died Thursday last of congestion of the lungs.

His housekeeper also died a few hours before him, and both were buried on the same day.
