Conrad Sanderman

One of the pioneers of Ludlow in the person of Conrad Sanderman passed away at his home last Tuesday afternoon, after a long, useful life of nearly seventy-one years. Mr. Sanderman was born in Germany, emigrating to this country when a young man, working out as a farm hand in northern Illinois for a year, after which he came to this county settling in Ludlow township, this remaining his home to his death.

Mr. Sanderman married Caroline Hager and their union resulted in a family of nine children, six boys and three girls, one son and one daughter have passed away, the other seven surviving the father and all were present at the burial which took place at the Zalmona Presbyterian church Monday afternoon. Rev. Kruse officiating.

Prosperous in this world’s goods, Mr. Sanderman also left to his family what is more to be desired, the heritage of a consistent Christian life.
