C. Poehler, of this city, lost his oldest girl, aged about thirteen years, very suddenly last Friday. She [sic] was taken ill Thursday and the following night death ensued from some throat disease. She is a great loss to him, as upon her devolved the care of the house and several small children, the mother being at the Asylum for the Insane at Independence.

Lizzie Poehler is listed in the Oak Hill cemetery record, although the death date is off by a month.
