Julia Ann Mauss of Lansing died Saturday, May 22, 1999 at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services were held at 11 A.M. Tuesday May 25, at Immaculate Conception Church with burial in Gethsemane Cemetery, both in Lansing. Burke - Thornburg Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Born Aug. 16, 1904 in Chicago IL, she was the daughter of John and Mary (McKenna) Blake. Julia married Joseph Mauss Oct. 21, 1924 at St. Mary's in Dorchester. Survivors include nine children; Sister Mary Bernard, Betty and husband Ray Burke; Joan and husband Harold Welper; Shirley and husband Harold Colsch; Bernadette Becker; John and wife Mary Lou Mauss; Maureen and husband Orville Strothman; 62 grandchildren; 105 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Marie Schulte, Helen White, Beatrice Mauss and Frances Blake. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter Kathlean Becker; three sisters, Patricia Byrnes, Gertrude Larson, Betty Hegeman; four brothers, Bill, John, Pat and Jim Blake, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
