Appearing in the Waukon Democrat, 10 Nov 1896, Volume 20, N#2:

The death of Adolph Hagemeier, Sr., occurred Sunday morning from the result of injuries received three weeks ago near town by being dragged from his wagon owing to the tongue dropping.

He was an old resident of the township and owned a fine 240acre farm five miles east of town. He leaves a widow and several children. Adolph and Miss Reka Hagemeier, and Otto residing in, Nebraska, are the offspring of deceased’s first marriage.

Appearing in the Waukon Republican Standard, 11 Nov 1896:

Mr. Adolph Hagemeier, one of the early settlers, aged about seventy years, died at his home about four miles east of town Sunday morning.

The funeral services are held at the German Evangelical church near there this afternoon.

His son Adolph of Decorah came Monday, and his daughter Reka of Cedar Rapids came last evening to attend the funeral.
