John O'Niel [sic], an old and respected resident of the West Ridge, after a lingering illness, died Saturday forenoon at 11 o'clock, and was buried in the Catholic cemetery on the West Ridge Monday.

He had lived longer than the usual span of man's life, and fell like golden grain to the sickle. He had the universal esteem of his neighbors, who speak of him as "a good old man."
