HARRY CLIFFORD BARR 1889-1965

Harry Clifford Barr, son of Frank and Emma Fish Barr, was born February 14, 1889 in Jackson county, Iowa. He passed away at the Community Memorial Hospital at Postville, Saturday, May 8, 1965 following a heart attack. Mr. Barr had been ill for three years.

Harry Barr was married to Grace McShane of Luana on November 16, 1935 at Decorah.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter Mrs. LeRoy (Judy) Landt of Cedar Rapids; one son, Conrad Barr of Waukon; four grandsons, Shayne, Warren and Patrick Barr, and Winston Landt; four sisters, Mrs. Veranus Ames, LaCrescent, Minnesota, Mrs. Fritz Berg, Waukon, Mrs. Donald Taylor, Waukegan, Illinois, Mrs. Willis Schlitter, Waukon; three brothers, Bert Barr of Cedar Rapids, Chet Barr of Waukon, and Guy Barr of Postville.

Harry Barr formerly lived in Cedar Rapids, Waukon and Luana. He settled at Luana in 1962. He formerly worked for Wilson and Company in Cedar Rapids, was at one time a garage owner, and was engaged in farming. Harry Barr in his youth joined the Catholic Church.

Funeral services were held at the Schutte Funeral Home, Tuesday at 2:00 with the Rev. Walter T. Martin in charge of the services. Burial was in Smithfield Cemetery.
