LARRY J. BOYER 1926-1980

Funeral services were held for Larry J. Boyer, 54, of Postville, Monday, Feb. 18, 1980, 11 a.m., at St. Bridget Catholic Church. The Rev. A. A. McAvoy officiated, with burial in the St. Lucas Cemetery.

Mr. Boyer was born in St. Lucas, Iowa, Jan. 29 1926, the son of Adam and Margaret (Ott) Boyer. He attended school in St. Lucas and married Connie Ricke, April 27, 1954 in Festina.

A veteran of the Korean War he was the recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Boyer was employed by Hygrade Food Products of Postville for almost 24 years and was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church, Postville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Adam Boyer. Survivors include: his wife, Connie of Postville; his mother, Mrs. Margaret Boyer, St. Lucas; five brothers and three sisters: Sister Mary Margaret of Osage, Leonard Boyer, Woods, Wis., Raymond, Andrew, Eugene, Dennis and Arlene Boyer, all of St. Lucas, and Mrs. Norbert (Flavia) Lechtenberg, Ft. Atkinson.
