—Mr. Howard Hersey, one of the pioneer settlers at Waukon, recently died at the home of his son-in-law Fred Burdick (once a resident of Decorah,) in Mendota, Ill. His remains were brought to Waukon for burial.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Dec. 17, 1811 and died Dec. 5, 1895. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery.
