HARVEY HAMILTON DOUGLASS 1886-1973

Services were held Saturday, November 24, 1973, at 1:30 p.m. from the Community Presbyterian Church, Postville, for Harvey H. Douglass who died November 21, 1973, at Community Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Dick Harberts officiated.

Harvey Hamilton Douglass was born October 18, 1886 at Postville, the son of May Hamilton Douglass and Reuben Noble Douglass. He lived his entire life in this community and was educated in the Postville public schools.

For nearly 40 years he worked in the Douglass Pharmacy with his father and brother. He then served ten years as Postmaster.

On May 29, 1925, he married Dorothy Herrick of Fredericksburg, Iowa. He attended the Community Presbyterian Church and belonged to Brotherly Love Lodge No. 204 A. F. and A. M. of Postville, Scottish Rites Chapter and El Kahir Shrine of Cedar Rapids and Senior Citizens of Postville.

Survivors include his wife and four children: Mrs. John (Ann) Kochenderfer of Bellevue, Nebraska; Mrs. Julius (Jean) Lauderdale of Chevy Chase, Maryland; Robert N. of Novato, California and Mrs. Kenneth (Diane) Moore of Anchorage, Alaska. There are 16 grandchildren, and two nieces, Mrs. Darlene Couto of Postville and Mrs. Jay Jansen of Pomona, California.

Interment was in the Postville Cemetery.
