Adeline C. Gavin, 65, wife of Philip T. Gavin, 2903 C Avenue NE, died Monday after a brief illness. Born April 16, 1898, at Heytmans, IA she had lived at Harpers Ferry for many years before coming to Cedar Rapids 20 years ago. She was a member of St. Mary Agnes circle of Immaculate Conception church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Mrs.James Meade, Iowa City, Grace Gavin, Denver and Mrs. Leonard Monaghan, Masonville; two grandchildren; two brothers, Heimer Boardman, Lynxville, Wis., and Julius Boardman, Dubuque; two sisters, Mabel Hawes, Dubuque, and Mrs.George Sullivan, Harpers Ferry.

The body is at the Monahan-Stewart funeral home where friends may call Tuesday.
Services: Wednesday at 11, St.Matthew's church by the Rev.Msgr. J.D. Kearn. Burial: Mt.Calvary. Msgr.Kearn and St.Mary Agnes circle will recite the Rosary Tuesday at 7:30 at the funeral home.
