Merton Palmer Dies; Services at Waukon
Merton Palmer, 61, Waukon business man, died Sunday night of a heart attack.
Born in Elkader, he lived nearly all his life in Waukon.
He had been in the trucking, grain and livestock business here since 1935.
Surviving are three sons, Merton Palmer Jr., Waukon; Dr. Gerald Palmer, Long Beach, Calif., and James, home on leave from Norfolk, Va., two brothers, Ray, of Waukon, and Charles, Waukon postmaster, and four sisters, Mrs. Harry Heiser, Mrs. Alden Mosier and Mrs. Ora Mitchell, all of Waukon, and Mrs. I.E. Woodmansee, Richland, Calif.
Funeral services will be held in the Presbyterian church at a time to be announced later. The Martin Brothers funeral home is in charge.

NOTE: Merton Palmer was the son of Aaron and Emma (Niblock) Palmer and married Mabel Clarisse Rupp.
