William Toney, Waukon Mail Carrier Is Dead

William Toney, 77, died Tuesday afternoon in Veterans Memorial hospital here after a brief illness. He was a rural mail carrier out of Waukon for 43 years, from 1905 to 1948.

Surviving are a son, Emerson, at home; sister, Mrs. John R. Johnson; three brothers, Harrison and Jesse, of Waukon, and Harold, of Bend, Ore. His wife died in 1953. Martin Brothers Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
