Contributor: Connie Ellis (Transcriber)Randall "Randy" Eugene Mork, the son of Eugene Theodore and Lola Beatrice (Ewing) Mork, was born December 11, 1950 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville, Iowa. He passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 1998 at the St. Mary's Hospital, Rochester, Minnesota at the age of 47 years, 2 months, and 13 days. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where his services were held and interment was in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
Randy was baptized on March 26, 1951 by Rev. Ludwig and confirmed on April 11, 1965 by Rev. Witt. He graduated from the Postville Community School in 1969 and attended Ellsworth Junior College for two years. Randy was employed by the United Building Centers in Postville, Iowa and Austin, Minnesota. For several years, he also helped his Uncle Virgil Martins with his farm work. He worked for the D&N Kennels near Luana for a time.
During his youth Randy liked to play baseball and played on the Ellsworth College baseball team while he was attending school. He enjoyed bowling and watching ball games on TV as well. He enjoyed the outdoors too, fishing in both winter and summer. When the fish weren't biting, he liked to play cards, especially cribbage.
Randall Eugene Mork is survived by his parents, Gene and Lola Mork of Postville; his brother Grant Mork and his wife Michele also of Postville; his nieces, Lacey and her husband, Ronnie Schnuelle of Castalia, Iowa, Stephanie Mork of Dallas, Texas, and Ashley Mork of Excelsior Springs, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Enoch and Selma Mork, Larry and Bessie Ewing; and two uncles Clifton Mork and Ray Frieden.
