Waukon Meat Dealer, 83, Dies After Fall
WAUKON - William H. Hausman, 83, a pioneer resident of Allamakee county, who has operated a meat market here since 1912, died Tuesday of injuries suffered in a fall Monday night at the market.

He was taken to a Decorah hospital following the fall, but died without regaining consciousnes.

Born in Germany, he came to the United States as a youth, settling on a farm in French Creek township. He was married Sept. 1, 1889, to Anna Troendle at Lansing, where he lived for several years before buying the Roseland farm north of Waukon.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Matilda Welter (Welper) of French Creek township and Mrs. George Phillips of Waukon, and three sons, Walter, Fred and Frank of Waukon.

The body was taken to Martin's Funeral home. Funeral arrangements are pending.

DOD: September 9, 1946

Note: Iowa Gravestone Search shows middle name as Frederick and that William passed away at 93 years of age.
