Louis E. Hull, 68, co-owner and publisher of the Waukon Democrat here for many years, died Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial hospital here after a long illness.

Born, Feb. 4, 1903, in Bismark, N.D., he was married to Helen Oehlert at Sheffield June 21, 1931. A newspaperman since 1931, he and his brother, the late Leslie Hull, came to Waukon and purchased The Democrat newspaper from the late Edgar F. Medary in 1945. They published the newspaper until their retirement in 1961.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Grindeland of Lawnview, Wash., and Mrs. David Wilson of Waukesha, Wis.; two brothers, Lawrence of Valley City, N.D., and Lenn of Villisca; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Madson of Taylor, N.D., and Mrs. Herman Ulsseerg of Long Beach, Calif., and three grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Zion United Church of Christ. Friends may call at Martin's.
