Waukon - Services for Frederick Straate, 70, lifelong Waukon resident and for many years prominent in public affair, were held at the Zion Reformed church Thursday. He served as county recorder, president of the Waukon Farmers Creamery company, chairman of the Allamakee county soil conservation committee, member of the city council, and on the board of directors Waukon equity association. He owned an interest in a Waukon shoe store. Surviving are his wife (Anna Lydia Goeke), a daughter, Mrs. Milton Krumm; a son, Herbert, and three brothers and four sisters.
