Waukon, Ia. - Funeral services for Daniel Cahalan, 54, will be held Thursday morning at St. Pius Church at Cherry Mound with the Rev. Albert Nees, pastor, celebrating the requiem mass, according to arrangements completed Wednesday. Burial will be in the nearby cemetery.

Mr. Cahalan died Monday afternoon at a Rochester, Minn. [hospital], of injuries received last Friday in an accident while sawing wood at his farm.

He was one of a family of 16 children and he was born Jan. 12, 1887 in Allamakee County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Cahalan. He was educated in the rural schools and later he attended school in La Crosse.

He was married Nov. 26, 1906 to Emma Robinson, who survives with eight children: Mrs. Vincent Kernan of Harpers Ferry; Donald of Boston, Mass.; Dr. N.C Cahalan of Cascade; Thomas of Champaign, Ill.; Leo of Mingo; Joe of Hope, Ark.; Jerry and Rose Marie, both at home; 11 brothers and sisters: John, James, Patrick and Eugene, all of that vicinity; Aaron of Seattle, Wash.; Paul of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; Mrs. Winifred Shannon and Martin, both of Great Falls, Mont.; Sister Mary Canisia of Milwaukee; Mrs. James Johnston of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Mrs. Frank Allen of Madison, Wis.

His parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
