Waukon, Iowa, Feb. 11 - The well known veterinary Isaac Bechtel of Church, Iowa, aged 58, succumbed to a long and lingering illness with cancer of the stomach.

Deceased was born in Center township July 4, 1862, and had lived in Allamakee county all his life.

He was united in marriage with Miss Katherine Roth Nov. 4, 1886 and this union was blessed with three sons, two dying in infancy and Theodore Henry survives with the devoted wife.

He was a faithful member of the Congregational church at Church, Ia., which he joined in 1884.

He was a son of the late Isaac and Margeretha Bechtel, old and prominent pioneers, who raised a family of eight children, five boys and three girls, all of whom have died with the exception of Henry T. of Lansing, Ia.
