Michael "Mike" Craig Johnson, age 73, of Dresbach, Minnesota passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 in his home with his loving family by his side. Mike was born on October 24, 1946 in Waukon, Iowa to John and Marge (Lawson) Johnson. Michael attended school at the Waterville Consolidated School District and later at the Waukon High School. Michael served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Shirley (Henderson) Pierce on June 18, 1988. He spent the rest of his life driving semi-trucks throughout the United States for numerous companies.

He was a wonderful, loving husband to Shirley. He was also a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother who adored spending time with his family. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, word search, and watching game shows.

Michael is survived by his wife Shirley; two daughters Karen Johnson of Oneonta, New York and Michele (Nick) Davis of Morrisville, New York; two step-daughters Rochelle (Jeff) Doberstein of Plainview, Minnesota and Theresa Pierce of LaCrescent, Minnesota; three step-sons Marty (Patty) Pierce of Bangor, Wisconsin, Joel (Stephanie) Pierce of LaCrescent, Minnesota, and Jesse Pierce of Mankato, Minnesota; twenty-three grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters Brenda (Robby) Burrett of Waterville, Iowa and Julie (Richard) Amondson of Eitzen, Minnesota; two brothers Donald (Terry) Johnson of Waukon, Iowa and Steve (Netty) Johnson of Michigan along with his four-legged companion Sir Romeo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandson Micah McDowell, and his father and mother-in-law Julius (Jean) Henderson. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Kimball officiating. Burial with military honors was held in the Hiler Cemetery in Nodine, Winona County, Minnesota.
