Deceased was one of the pioneers of Allamakee county, settling with her husband in what is now Myron in 1850. Later the family moved to Waukon, where they bought the National hotel and conducted it for some time.

Mr. Schwartz died about fifteen years ago. Funeral services are held at 1:30 this afternoon at the Methodist church, conducted by Rev. Vannice, of Waukon, and the body laid to rest in the family lot in the Minert cemetery.
