Rudolph Keiser was born in the state of Delaware on February 20th, 1836 and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. N.J. Friend, at Aberdeen, Washington, on November 19th, 1926, aged 90 years, 8 months and 29 days.
He came to Iowa in 1865 settling on a farm south of Luana, later removing to one six miles northeast of Postville.
He was married to Ruth Annetta Asher April 25th, 1868. To this union were born three children, one son, Edward Lewis Keiser, who died March 4th, 1889, aged 19 years; a daughter Rosa Willetta Keiser, who died June 13, 1891, aged 21 years; and another daughter, Edith May, now Mrs. N.J. Friend of Aberdeen, Washington, his only surviving relative.
His wife passed away November 27th, 1884, since which [time] he resided at Monona, for a time, then removing to Omaha, Nebraska, where he lived for a number of years, and for the last ten years has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. N.J. Friend, at 517 north K. St., Aberdeen, Washington.
The foregoing is in brief the life story of a man who for many years was a resident of the Cherry Valley region, an honest, upright and industrious man, respected by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance and his passing will bring a pang of sorrow to those who knew him, and their sympathy will go out in full measure to the daughter in whose home he was so tenderly cared for over a long period of years.
The body, accompanied by his daughter May, arrived in Postville during the early hours of Thanksgiving morning, and was taken to the funeral parlors of Harris & Schutte, where on Friday morning a brief service was conducted by Rev. R.F. Galloway of the Community Presbyterian church, after which the remains were conveyed to the Post Township cemetery for burial by the side of oved ones gone before.
In this connection the daughter wishes to extend her heartfelt thanks to the old friends and neighbors for their comforting words and assistance in the burial of her beloved father.

Notes: Rudolf, his wife Ruth & children Edward and Rosa have no existing gravestones in Minert cemetery. According to her obituary, Ruth was buried next to her mother (Mahala Asher) - so it is likely that Rudolf, Edward and Rosa are also buried in that vicinity.
