Lansing, Iowa - Although not unexpected, the death of Mrs. Marie Breckemeier, which took place Sunday afternoon, cast a gloom over many friends of the family in this community. She had been an invalid for many years and about three years ago suffered a paralytic stroke from which she never fully recovered. During all her long illness she has had the constant care of Miss Louise, and only during the last few months was she assisted by Mrs. Moore of California.

Mrs. Breckemeier would have been 73 years of age had she lived until the 14th of August. Her husband died eleven years ago. Three daughters, Miss Louise, at home, and Mesdames Rice and Moore of Los Angeles, Cal., and two sons, Theodore of Alma, Wis., and Louis of Freeport, Ill., survive her.

Two other sons, August and Herman, preceded her in death. The funeral was held from the home on Main street, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery.
