Mrs. Leonard A. Hammel, a former resident of Postville, died in her home at Hot Springs, Arkansas, on Wednesday morning, February 29, 1956, at the age of 67.

Mrs. Hammel was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Clark of Postville.

Mary Ellen Clark was united in marriage with Leonard A. Hammel on November 11, 1909. To this union were born four children: Charles R. of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Alice (Mrs. Kenneth Hinman) of Davenport; Hartley, who died in infancy and Virgil C. of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Mrs. Hammel is survived by her husband, two sons, a daughter and two grandchildren, Mary Jane and John Clark Hammel; two sisters, Mrs. John Galvin and Mrs. Sterling Wanker, both of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two brothers, Thomas Clark of Minneapolis and William Clark of South America.

She was a member of the Orange St. Presbyterian Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 3, at 2:00 p.m. from the Gross Morturary. She was laid to rest in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
