Darline V. Leitz, 76, of Waukon, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at Northgate Care Center in Waukon. There will be no local services. Memorials may be made to Northgate Care Center.

Darline Vera was born June 7, 1927, on the rural Harpers Ferry farm of her parents, Carl and Lucille (Bennington) Heim. She was baptized and comfirmed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in rural Harpers Ferry and attended rural Paint Rock School.

On June 30, 1972, she married Harold Leitz in Granger, Minn.

Darline was a waitress at several restaurants in Waukon. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing cards, and going to garage sales.

Survivors include a sister, Lorraine Elder of Colusa, Ill., and several nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; and two sisters, Monica Flod and Doris Engen.
