Norbert J. Brazell, age 74, of Harpers Ferry, died Monday, January 19, 2004, at Thornton Manor in Lansing. Funeral services were held Friday, January 23 at St. Ann's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry with Fr. Louis Trzil and Msgr. Ed Lechtenberg officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery-Paint Rock. Hanson's Funeral Home in Waukon was in charge of arrangements.

Norbert was born February 15, 1929, in Harpers Ferry, the son of Leo and Mabel (Markwardt) Brazell.

He worked as an accountant and was a member of St. Ann's-St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry. He live in Cedar Rapids and Harpers Ferry.

Survivors include three brothers. Maurice Brazill of Milwaukee, Wis., John Brazell of Harpers Ferry, and Harold Brazell of Cedar Rapids, as well as nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary casketbearers were his nieces and nephews. Casketbearers were Kevin, Mark, Brian, Steven, Harlan, and Richard Brazell, Blish Hills, and Curt Sagehorn.
