Robert J. Kulps, 37, of Waukon, died Thursday, January 15, 2004, in rural Lansing. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 24, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a trust fund for Robert's children at Kerndt Brothers Savings Bank in Lansing.
Robert James Kulps was born May 2, 1966, in Chicago, Ill., the son of Daniel and Patricia (Mazzolini) Kulps. He graduated from Curie High School and attended Daley Junior College. After school, he worked in produce for several years in the Chicago area.
On November 20, 1992, he married Christine Coleman in Chicago. He worked as a forklift operator for Old Dominon Freight Line in Chicago for a few years before moving to Waukon in 2000. Since then he has been a production worker at Northern Engraving in Waukon.
Robert enjoyed building military models, was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved to fish. He also enjoyed playing video games with his sons and fixing things around the house. Survivors include his wife, Christine, and their two sons, Johnathon, age 8, and Christopher, age 4, all of Waukon; and his mother, Patricia Kulps, grandmother, Anna Kulps, and sister, Vanessa (Jay) Jimenez, all of Lansing.
