Kathleen Mae Olson, of Lansing, age 76, died Thursday December 15, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, WI.

Kathleen Mae Halverson was born March 3, 1935 in Clermont, the daughter of Martin and Mamie Warnholtz Halverson. Kathleen graduated from Waukon High School with the class of 1953. April 18, 1956 she married James P. Scholtes in Lansing. Kay worked at the Lansing button factory for several years and January 20, 1979 she was united in marriage to Rodney Olson at the United Methodist Church in Lansing. Kay helped Rodney on the farm and also worked at KolGol's in Lansing. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lansing.

She is survived by her husband Rodney of Lansing; five children, Jeanette A Scholtes of Wabasha, MN, Thomas (Donna) Scholtes of Lansing, Jamie Bjornsen of Lansing, Steven L. (Patty) Scholtes of Lansing and Christine (Larry) Griffith of Waterloo; two brothers, Leo Halverson of Lansing and Kenneth Halverson of Woodman, WI; two sisters, Marion (Duane) Meier of Lansing and Marilyn (Bill) Macke of Arkansas; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; seven sister-in-laws, Dorothy Halverson of Prairie du Chien, WI, Virginia Halverson of Waukon, Rose Halverson of Florida, Donna Halverson of McCleary, TX, Anita (Burell) Sorum of Waukon, Judy (Robert) Islei of Waukon and Linda Olson of Manchester; and one brother-in-law, Jim (Aggie) Olson of Lansing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Genevieve Scholtes and June Marie Scholtes; six brothers, Dorf, Roger, Harvey, Lynn, Gene and Frederick; one sister, Delila Palmer; a son-in-law, Joe Bjornsen; and a brother-in-law, Curtis Olson.
