We are late with the announcement of the death of Karl Peglow of Franklin township, near Volney, Iowa, May 14, aged 82 years, 6 months and 27 days.
Mr. Peglow was a member of the German Lutheran church of Monona, a consistent, earnest christian gentleman.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, Rev. Graening conducting the service. Burial at Smithfield cemetery.
Those of the relatives present from a distance were Mrs. C.H. Blanchaine and daughter of Ossian, F.W. Peglow of St. Paul, Mrs. H. Kossock of McGregor and Miss Amanda Gehrt of Monona.

Note: Gravestone is engraved Gottlieb Peglow, dates 10/17/1816 - 5/14/1899. Unknown if he commonly went by the name Karl, or if that name was a newspaper error.
